Bosnia and Herzegovina (abbreviated BiH), informally Bosnia, a country in Southeastern Europe which is located on the Balkan Peninsula. It borders Serbia to the east, Montenegroin the southeast and Croatia in the north and southwest. In the south, it has access to the Adriatic Sea. The northern and larger part of the country is occupied by the region of Bosnia, and the southern and smaller part by the region of Herzegovina. The capital and largest city is Sarajevo.
